WORDLESS OF ANGER !

Covered by the wooden fence I didn't realize that the house which is being built on the property behind our neighbor, suddenly started a second floor ! That made me so angry that I were wordless ! I always thought there would only be one floor and then the roof and that's it ! And to make me even more angry was that they had also started to dig behind our property.

Of course I knew that there would be houses built but still it makes me angry. 33 years we are living here now and had a beautiful field behind our garden, first with cows on it and then as a cornfield. I even had the pleasure to look in a cow's face who looked through the window doors into our living room. That's why I dropped my cup, I really had not expected to find myself face to face with a cow and her big brown eyes !

It had been like living in the countryside with all the advantages of a city. Fortunately our son could grow up at this time, playing with other children in the field or driving around with the farmer.

But since Waterloo had been discovered by VIPs everything changed. Now each and every cm of land is sold for building houses.

The only consolation for me is that we could enjoy the field during 32 years. Poor cats, they loose their hunting ground !

Something similar happened to me the day I moved into my current home.
There was a big hedge just behind my property and they knocked it down as I was sitting on my deck. Now there are houses everywhere..

uhh! we have potentially the same situation - a dairy farm behind our house that's been slated for development for the over 30 years I've lived here. the only thing that's delayed it is zoning problems because of a creek running through the property and flooding.

sorry your view and the kitties playground will be spoiled.

Sorry to hear that the cats are losing their hunting ground. Pookie looks very nice in the top photo.

That's a shame. I know houses are needed, but someday the building on open fields has to end..

Oh, that is always soo sad... I hate when that happens!

Luckily for me, I moved away before that happened at my old house. I'd hated to have neighbours looking into my bedroom at second floor when living in a house! Now when living in an apartment, I'm more prepared that I have to stand it...

BTW: come on over and warm yourself at our flaming new blog look and have a a drink. It's supposed to be temporary, just to get rid of the Santa, but I'm not sure, maybe I grow too fond of it... *lol*

Oh how sad!! Too much building. We have protected wet lands directly behind our house, but behind those one man owns 100 acres and he is very old. We are afraid that when he dies it will be sold off and they will build houses back there. It will break my heart because it is such beautiful woods with deer and wildlife. We are trying to enjoy it while we can.

That's sad about the building happening in the field. I hate when construction takes over Nature. They did that to a lovely field near our house too ... they are building a 4 story housing unit for University students! That means extra traffic too.

Progress, that is what they call it. My husband wrote a poem about it. One day I shall put it on my website. I hate how close together the houses are built now days. It is too close for comfort.

Thanks for stopping by.

Construction is never done where it does not change someones landscape view! Sure hope the development is done tasteful for your sake and that they like cats!

My photo is up. Happy Wednesday!

I dislike any kind of disruptive construction but especially if it isn't even going to be for me when it is complete!
I love Pookie!

I thought the same thing that Ma said...PROGRESS...at least that is what they call it anyway!! So sad...but I guess you can say that you were blessed all of those years to have that great view and the peace that you had...so sorry for you...Sandy.

In our neighborhood, we DID have an empty field behind us....now, it's going to be a whole NEW subdivision!! Goodie. I know how you feel.

Love the PLAYbull. My W W is posted.

I can relate to the construction. The area I grew up in was rural and is now becoming a large town. It's hard to see the lovely scenery turn into housing developments and strip malls.

So much for "progress".
I gather Wordless Wednesday had you speechless.

I'm the same as missy, only we just got houses, and finally big retail parks with lots of new roads that were supposed to make life easier in the town ... They forgot to build any new bridges though and that's where the problem really lies.

Ohhhhhhh NOOOOOO! How awful! Oh Gattina... I'm so sorry! You know this happens EVERYwhere! Country turns to city and back again! My husband and I are verrrrrrrry fortunate to have bought 3 acres and each of our neighbors have 3 acres also -- so NO MORE houses can EVER be built in our neighborhood. Well... at least until WE are all dead and gone! Then they can come level our houses and put up apartment buildings or something hideous like that! But for now our little plot of the world is safe. At least from bulldozers. I really FEEL your pain...

Sorry to hear that Gattina.

We experienced something similar. Our neighbors decided to have their house renovated. They built an extension of their house and it covered our beautiful view of the mountain. We used to see the majestic mountain from our garden. Our guests loved it as much as we did. Then our neighbor had to ruin it!
