WORDLESS & SPEACHLESS

Pookie also were wordless or better miaowless. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

When I visited the WW participants last week, I saw on one blog a picture of a padded cell in a mental health hospital, and the description said it were a cell were very violent people who had an attack are locked in until they calm down.

It was quite horrible. I once had assisted to such an attack of a 5 year old boy and it took 6 adults to get him down and hold him. I made my comment and read the others to see what they wrote. And then I became really wordless, more WORDLESS then ever since I participate in this group. This is what I read :

Nice shot! Thanks for stopping by

I also exercise for Comments!

That is a great shot. Mine is up too.

Great photo. Do you know who the artist is?

Only one person looked a little closer :

wow... won't want to be in there. that IS a cell right? couldn't make it out properly.

Great picture I like it!

After a few other WW blogs I stumbled over one with a picture of a grave stone representing an angel. It was on a child's grave and said it was the new gravestone parents had set up and the text was very sad. There I read the following comments :

Very touching Thanks for stopping by I will exercise for Comments!

Nice picture, mine is up !

I swear it, this is not my invention !

I can't even imagine commenting anything like that..

I love the picture of your cat, cats sure have a LOT of personality!

That cat looks like its about to say

"May I help you"?

I know just what you mean. I think that sometimes people are in just a hurry to comment that they don't look at the photo. I often wonder too if any of those participating return to the blogs. Last week I commented on 100 + blogs and only have of them returned to my blog. I hope I was not one of those who did not really look at the photo.

With that said, I just love the photo you have up. He does not look amused one bit.

I think I know what my bird was doing now! She was hiding from your cat!!

My WW is up. I was waiting until Wednesday. ;-)

Looks like you woke Pookie up. Can't really see much of the rest of the cat, but I scrolled down to some of your past posts and I have to say, Pookie has some pretty cool colouring.

I think people tend to have a generic set of comments they use when they don't know what else to say or they're in too much of a hurry to stop and think. I know I've posted comments similar to that in the past, but usually only when I actually do like the photo for whtever reason (composition, etc), otherwise I try to say something thats actually a little more relevant.

Some times people do not look at the pictures posted. I know that from experience...
Looks like Pookie just woke up from a nap :)

I love when cats curl up on your lap! I used to have a Siamese cat that would kind of hang on my back when I sat in the floor. Even when I was painting our baseboards, the cat was hanging on my back...gotta love'em!!

The cat seems sooo big.

My daughter loves cats but she's scared of the big ones.

i have always wondered about that.... you know all the bloggers who wisit so many sites.... just to get return visits.... because if you really stop to see the picture and understand it... it takes time... It's not always an easy picture.... and if one is stopping by just to comment and run.... they won't take the time

He looks very distinguished in that photo! Happy WW!

Sometimes people definitely don't take the time to look at a photo, or to read a post. I've had people tell me that I look like a nice dog, where if they took a moment they would see that I'm a CAT!

Pookie either looks very satisfied with herself, or else upset at being disturbed - I'm not sure which! :)

Yes I think people sometimes don't look too much into the pictures. But I think the whole idea of wordless wednesday (for me anyway) is about interpreting what the photo/shot means to me. We all interpret things differently. I'm sure no harm is meant by anyone.

Back to Pookie - that looks like one very content cat!!

Cats are wonderful. I don't know how one could live without them. They are good for us! This picture can definitely say it all without words!!

Pookie looks like one regal moggie :-)

There's a lot of cut & pasting goes on with these comments...

Nermal: You're looking great Pookie :)

Angelo: Yeah I agree with you on that Gattina! Hope you're WW turns out better this week :) Happy WW!

Awww, he's so sweet and looks so happy :-)

Have a great day!

It IS amazing, isn't it? I notice it too - every week! People just comment without even SEEING what they are commenting on! I call them the "comment whores" -- they just comment to get you to come leave them a comment! WHAT is the POINT in that? I don't go back and visit the ones that do that on my page! Really cuts down on my visiting time! ;)

Hey... you have 4 kitties right? How come Pookie is the only one who gets to help type?

Jan said...

I think Pookie is bigger than my Whiskers, and that's saying a lot! Hope Pookie's as sweet as Whiskers is though. Love those cats!

Barb said...

Why comment if you aren't even looking at the photo!

Your kitty seems to be thinking about maybe a catnip treat?

Reese said...

Nice photo!

Claire said...

Exactly what skittles said!
if you havent got anything to say then dont say anything! Some people are just clickers and runners! I cant say i have never just put 'great shot' because i have but only if i think it is!
I think yours is a great shot honest! are you scratching his belly?
Thanks for the visit before! No its not a graveyard on mine, but thanks for guessing!

I certainly believe that some visitors just want to post a link to their blog and that's it. They make a generic comment and go on to the next blog. Personally, I think that is so rude.

As for your dog pic...oh wait it was a cat right? LOL just kidding. I love the facial expression. Cats are so full of personality.

Your cat looks quite rightly disgusted. I sometimes post while on my lunch break, or taking a "brain break". Like now. But I always try to say something.

I do try to not be insensitive. Sometimes you have to wonder if the picture has been looked at.

It's sad....
I have noticed at times that some commentors leave the same exact words in EVERYone's comment section...so maybe they don't even look at the photos and just paste what they have copied.

I wouldn't go as far as calling them 'whores' tho as Melli did. But, they are very incensitive...and the ones that post such graphic pictures I think are quite incensitive also.

Thanks for the visit this morning.

oops....wanted to leave a comment on the pretty kitty too....Pookie's precious. Of course, I'm biased, I love cats, period!!!

Hi! I'm a WW newbie.

I have noticed that when people don't know what else to say, they fall into the "dumb" mode and leave comments like you've mentioned. It's sad. You work so hard to put together a post they will enjoy. sigh...

Pookie is adorable! He looks like my Maxie! I have 3 cats and they are my muse.

Thanks for your photo and for your insightful opinion, too. I appreciate it.

Very interesting observations.
The kitty expression is very human like. Wonder what he is thinking.
Thank you for sharing.

I understand what you are saying Gattina and I sure hope that I have not been guilty of that. I try to look at each and every picture on WW and see what people have chosen for that week. You could not figure mine out you said. It is of an airplane that the wing caught the top of a jeep (car) and took it off!! It is an actual picture!! Pretty wordless!! I love cats as you know and Pookie is always a darling. Sandy

I know what you are saying. Sometimes a bit more looking is necessary!

I love the look on Pookie's face. That is one feline who knows who the boss is!

And we all are guilty of having a tag line!

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope yours has been a wonderful Wednesday!

Gattina, I think it's just like you were saying before, it's sad that it's come to be about the quantity and volume, not the quality and content, lucky though that it's only for some - each to his own I reckon.
