13 CATHASTROPES

This belongs to the past ! Not Pookie of course ! Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

1. I woke up at 1 am because something or somebody made strange noices. Half asleep I thought about something falling down and a little noice like spraying water.

2. When I switched on the light, I saw my cat Lisa with her bottom turned to the computer and her tail up.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Would you ever believe that from a cute innocent (!!) cat ?

3. I screemed and jumped out of my bed.

4. I stumbled over my slippers and sweared like a truck driver. Were astonished afterwards about the knowledge I had. (how was that possible ?)

5. To get my balance back, I hit a little table which felt down and a flower vase and some ceramic cats dropped to the floor.

6. I ran to my computer, Lisa saw me coming and escaped like a flash.

7. I discovered the catastrophe, although my laptop was closed, everything inside and around was wet.

8. I took a kitchen paper roll and did my best to dry everything . I put the laptop near the radiator and run after Lisa who of course had disappeared.

9. In the morning I tried to switch on my computer. Dead. Nothing not even a little light. I took out the battery everything was wet inside. I took my hairdryer and put it on for 1/2 h then tried again. Still nothing.

10. Mr. Gattino proposed to ask his computershop for help and took the thing with him. He didn't say anything to Lisa. Of course as usual I were guilty, I should have put a plastic cover over the laptop. Easy to say afterwards !

11. I had to go on his computer to prepare and publish Wordless Wednesday. That wasn't easy at all and took a lot of time

12. When he came back, he told me there is nothing to do, I have to buy a new one !

13. I told myself to calm down and it's better to get a new computer than a stomach ulcer.

The result of this awful day : One new laptop, one swearing (in Italian, that sounds better) Mr. Gattino installing the computer, one happy cat purring around and having a very good appetite.

At last the whole story didn't stink.

Now, I have to wait until saturday then I will get my documents and pictures back, this at least can be recuperated.

I've heard that cats sometimes have a pissy attitude. This confirms it.
The new computer will be nice..

I've never heard of a cat doing such a thing to a computer. I guess the good part is that you get a new one (computer not cat)
:)

Sorry to hear that you lost your laptop. :( I can't believe Lisa did that to your computer! Well, at least you get a new laptop out of it!

Glad to hear that you'll be able to get your pictures and documents back. I hope the new laptop lasts a very long time.

I hope you have a better day today!

Cats have a way of getting out of the things they do wrong easily. I should know, I have 4 kitties.

Happy TT

My Cat Gremlin has been guilty of similar unladylike behaviors but thank goodness never with my laptop!!! I assumed my laptop was safe from her depravity as long as I left the lid closed when unattended though. I guess I will think again now.

I read somewhere of laptops that got liquids spilled on them and were revived by dunking them in a tub of rubbing alchohol and then allowing to air dry for several days. But don't anybody do this based on my vague memory. Besides the liquids in question were wine and coffee possibly with milk. I have no idea how cat musk would react with rubbing alchohol.

I'm sure glad your files survived. And that you could afford to replace your laptop. I sure could not. I saved four years for it and it is only one year old. I have heart palpatations just thinking of the terrible things that could happen to it. This is one I had not thought of! So I guess I will thank you for the heads up for maybe you saved me from a tragedy.

Did you put the cat in time out? Sorry about your laptop. Glad you got a new one and hope everything is up and running soon. Hope today is better for you with no more CATastrophe.

So, this is the laptop that Lisa pissed on? Are you sure you ain't my sister with that kinda luck?

Sorry Ingrid, at least you got a new one, although that one was not old. I back up my favorites, but ya know, I have no idea how to get them from the cd to the a new pc if I had too!

Oh my goodness....
Cat psychologist here:
Kitty certainly is suffering from some computer jealosy!
Perhaps some nice quiet time just for kitty and you?

Or perhaps a spin in the rinse cycle for kitty? *insert wicked grin*

What a way to get a new laptop, huh?

I agree with Rachelle. That's what it is. Lisa has Computer envy! She's just trying to get your attention. It is a definite CATastrophe!!

This is what I love about blogging - hearing from all over the world. Thanks for stopping by! My goodness, what a fiasco. I'm glad you love that cat enough to let her survive this disaster!

I'm sorry to hear about your laptop. I'm wondering what made your cat do that? I think I would have strangled mine.

I'm up too.

Oh my goodness!! How awful for your laptop. The story was funny though, and to look on the bright side...you will get a new computer, so that will be the silver lining! :)

I think she was jealous :D
I would really freak out if my cat did that! Thanks for visiting my TT and have a good weekend!

Was she angry with you? I am not too much of a cat person.... personally llike dogs better.... so I've never experienced this.... hard for dogs to jump up onto a table and do something like that....

I'm sorry, I'm chuckling, but oh my goodness, what a disaster. Wonder what made Lisa do that ?? I have never seen a female cat spray, though ... that's odd !! She is obviously jealous of the time you spend on the laptop, instead of snuggling with her !!!
Lucky you, though ... a new laptop !!
Have a great weekend.
Take care, Meow

Irish Church Lady :) said...

Now what would compel her to do that?! Is she jealous of the time spent on the computer like Meow says above?

If that is the case, then my hubby should be spraying my computer. Ssssssh! I'd better not say that too loudly or he just might get an idea!
