WHAT ARE MISTAKES ?

The Blogging chicks decided to talk about mistakes. So at first I wonder if it's not a mistake to talk about mistakes ?

PC Pookie looked quite astonished to my question as she had never done a mistake in her life.

What does mistake mean ?

The explanation the dictionary gives is an "incorrect act or decision: an incorrect, unwise, or unfortunate act or decision caused by bad judgment or a lack of information or care".

Quite difficult ! Because sometimes you make a wrong decision, i.e. a mistake and when you look back it hasn't been a mistake at all !

You decide to take a highway which is wrong on your card and therefore a mistake, but when you arrive, it has been the shortest way. Then this would be a good mistake.

Or you book a holiday in a certain country, you make a mistake and land up in another, you are very angry with yourself and then you hear that in the country you choose 1000 of people were killed by an earthquake. This also would be a good mistake.

And what about bad mistakes ?

If you have to decide what profession to choose and you choose to study politics, it was the right decision for you, but for the rest of the world it was a big mistake !

Or you choose a partner for your life and after a few years you realize that this decision has been the biggest mistake in your life.

Another mistake is (still written in the dictionary) : "An aborted fetus, especially female. (one boy and seven mistakes)".

Until today, I didn't know that I am a living mistake, but it's never to late to learn.

Conclusion, all women here are mistakes and only men are not mistakes. But if there are only men how would the world continue to exist without women ? They need us mistakes more badly then we do. We can help ourselves today with new technologies, the artificial insemination from a donator bank and even decide if we want to have a mistake or a boy.

Men couldn't do that or have you ever heard about a deepfreezed uterus ?

We all do mistakes that's for sure. But if your mistake is good for you it's not necessarily good for others.

I give it up, mistakes are too complicated. And maybe that is a mistake too, it depends on the readers.

Good heavens! What dictionary do you use? I refuse to believe that any of us are mistakes. We are precious creations. Maybe it's time for a good old fashioned book burning, eh? :)

Okay, I just checked my dictionary and it didn't have that second one. I too am asking what dictionary you have. Interesting.

From one mistake to another, I really like your photos. I plan on coming back to see more. Here via the carnival.

I don't care what the dictionary says. Jeremiah 1:5 says, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart." I choose to believe we all have a plan and purpose for our life. Never believe you are a mistake. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope for the future." Believing we are a mistake is living without hope. We may make plenty of mistakes along the way, but we ourselves are not a mistake. Sorry, I just couldn't let that one go by. Ramblin' Christian Woman, I know.

Girl children as mistakes? Is this for real? I know in some countries the girls are left to die, but I did not think this was in America.

Women have the heart of the land. Not much left without it.

Regarding the comment you left on my blog. If I misunderstood your post I apologize. It was just my interpretation of what I read I guess. Sometimes it's hard to understand the intent of just the written word. Perhaps my comment was a mistake, but at least it was a mistaken comment about a post about mistakes, I think.

A good topic for generating comment! I guess that maybe Gattina had her tongue in her cheek when she quoted that horrendous dictionary definition. I have an emoticon for that which I try to use in my own blogs and emails when it might be necessary: :^)

If a parent wants a girl and got a girl, then that is not a mistake. Last-born daughters are usually not mistakes. Firstborn daughters are most likely mistakes. A typical mistake in this sense is either Chinese or Indian.
